How to Approach the TEACUP Essay Sample and Write it in a Better Way
How to Approach the TEACUP Essay Sample and Write it in a Better WayThe main thing about studying for the TEACUP essay sample is to write it in a certain way so that it makes sense. There are two main methods of essay writing, one is right-brained and the other is left-brained. Both of them can work for you but if you want to make your essay more compelling than it is more important to have the right kind of approach for the whole essay. So, if you want to learn how to use the right kind of approach for essay writing then read on.Right-brained approach: The right-brained approach is where you have to create a story first and then describe the events using sentences. This means that you have to describe the events using pictures and images. Do not go into details without making sure that they are actually happening in the story. In this approach, you should use the left side of your brain and the right side of your brain will focus on the descriptions. If you try to put all the descri ptions on the left side of your brain and the descriptions on the right side of your brain then you will not be able to remember them. To make sure that you are able to focus your mind on the right side of your brain then you need to read more. The concept is quite simple but what you need to do is to slow down and organize the ideas on the left side of your brain and the right side of your brain. Start learning different information from books or internet. You can also take quizzes online, which is very useful for college and university essays. So you will learn something new and fresh every time.It is very easy to memorize words but is very difficult to memorize the whole sentence and even harder to write a sentence. Also, if you are new to writing essay then it is very important that you practice by writing short sentences as you progress with your learning. It will not be very hard for you butif you are more experienced in writing then you will find it tough. On the other hand, wh en you use the left-brained approach then you need to focus on sentences instead of a story. For example, instead of describing an event then you should give an introduction to the event. This is very simple to follow but in fact this is the most difficult part. Try to find a subject to which you are going to talk about and make sure that it will be easy for you to connect the events in the story. All it takes is some practice and your entire process will get easier as you gain more knowledge about writing essays. You will also find that your mind will come more clear every time you start writing a sentence. All you need to do is to add the ideas in your head and to write them in the right order. However, if you are already familiar with the process then there is no need to worry because this is not a difficult concept. Now that you know how to approach essay writing, you may want to apply the same technique when you are taking the TEACUP essay sample tests. If you have problems in do ing this then it is important that you find a good online tutor. That is why you should consider taking a coaching course which can help you with your essay writing problem. In conclusion, if you want to become a great essay writer then you need to learn more about the process of essay writing and also about writing essays. It is only by knowing the facts about how to write and how to prepare that you will be able to write a better essay. Once you start writing an essay you will find it easier but you have to keep in mind that there is no such thing as a good essay and a perfect essay.
Theme of Childhood in The Prelude and The Schoolboy Essay Example
Theme of Childhood in The Prelude and The Schoolboy Paper Romanticism, a literary trend during the period between 1780 and 1830, was heavily influenced by the social and political changes of the era experienced in Great Britain. These changes were a catalyst in literature as writers, in particular poets, produced highly influential and memorable work. Within these works major themes could be detected such as childhood for example. Both William Wordsworth and William Blake produced some of the most memorable poetic literature of the Romantic period that reflected the nature of childhood. The set extract has been taken from William Wordsworth autobiographical poem, The Prelude. Within these verse paragraphs, the reader is given an insight of Wordsworth upbringing, who as the speaker of the poem recollects his childhood memories. As such the reader is able to detect the magnificence of childhood that Wordsworth believed was fundamental in his growth as a poet. The Prelude makes use of iambic pentameter which in conjunction with enjambment, the long uninterrupted sentences provide the fluency of a conversation, a natural speech pattern which the reader can relate. The extract opens with the speakers account of growing up in that beloved Vale (l.309), Wordsworth attended Hawkshead Grammar School in Esthwaite from 1779 -to 1788, (Owens Johnson, 1998, page 428). While a formal education took place, nature provided a symbolic education, Fosterd alike by beauty and by fear (l.307), and as such adopting the role of a substitute parent, therefore nurturing the speaker as a child. The speaker narrates how he would wander half the night (l.315), setting traps and becoming a fell destroyer (l.319). The metaphor symbolises the first stems of guilt the speaker experiences. The tone of the poem becomes more urgent with the speakers repetition of hurrying, (l.320-321), as the progresses at a quicker reflecting the urgency of the speaker. There appears to be a hidden force in nature, the speaker feels trouble to the peace, (l.323) as he is overcome to take the bird of anothers toils (l.327). With the solitary hills (l.329) and low breathings (l.330) a symbolic metaphor become apparent reflecting the child speakers developing conscience and the relationship with nature. The relationship with nature has been forged, will progress further in the future. The presentation of metaphor is once again created as the speaker describes stealing a birds nest. This destructive act will have long term consequences, a fate the speaker is well aware of. However, it is only when the speaker is hanging upside down that he is finally able to see nature in a different light, the sky seemd not a sky Of earth, and with what motion movd the clouds! (L.350 to 351). Reminiscing over these childhood exploits the adult speaker of The Prelude, reflects philosophically upon the effect of the incidents that he found terrifying as a child. Personification of a dark Invisible workmanship (l.353-354), the speaker considers there was a force consciously developing him. The early miseries, regrets, vexations, lassitudes, (l.357-358), of the childhood game have ensured the speaker has matured, learning to respect the natural world. With this in mind the speaker continues with the personification of nature, the tone and language towards the natural environment becomes religious. Nature nurtured the child to frame A favord being (l.364), developing the mind, heart and soul of the later poet. William Blakes The Schoolboy is an example from the collection of Songs of Experience. The poem discusses the issue of a formal education, which Blake disagreed with strongly believing children should discover the enjoyment of childhood and therefore gain an education through life experiences. The provocative poem reflects William Blakes own concerns regarding childrens welfare through the poetic devices of metaphor, rhyme and imagery. The Schoolboy consists of six stanzas, each with fives line. It is clear that from the first stanza that the poem has a set rhyme scheme of ABABB, which is continued throughout the poem a direct contrast to Wordsworth verse paragraphs in The Prelude. The poem opens with the speaker waking on a summer morning, the use of positive words such as love, rise and morn, (l.1) suggest an upbeat tone to the poem. However, an ambiguity is quickly followed as The distant huntsman winds his horn (l.3), a sense of threat detected with the horn as the warning sound. The natural world is clearly a source of inspiration to the speaker. The birds and trees mentioned in to the first stanza later develop as significant metaphors as The Schoolboy progresses. Blake establishes an idyllic scene, where the speaker lives in mutual harmony with nature as the skylark sings (l.4) with the speaker on this summer morning. This idyllic harmony shatters as the tone of the poem changes in the second stanza. With the speakers But (l.6), providing a link between the first and second stanza, the scene transforms from the peaceful countryside to the forbidding environment of the schoolroom. The repetition of in a summer morn (l.1, l.6) in the first and second stanza establishes a parallel link providing a comparison that shows an enlightening contrast of joy in the first instance, and melancholy in the second. With the speakers description of the teacher, a cruel eye, (l.7), further deepens the despair the child feels with the forced education, the sighing and dismay portraying the broken spirit that is visible to the reader. Entrapment experienced by the speaker becomes a focal point in third stanza. As noted previously, the natural world provides significant metaphors in The Schoolboy. Drooping (l.11) of the speaker evokes an image of a wilting plant, rather than of a child sat at his desk. The posture of the speaker reflects the state of a plant outside the protective environment of a bower (l.14); the speaker is clearly separated from the natural environment that stimulates his mind. The lessons taught by the teacher have stifled the speakers spirit with its dreary shower, (l.15). Metaphors are once again employed in the fourth stanza as the speaker continues, How can the bird, that born for joy, Sit in a cage and sing? (l.16-17). Children have been denied the joys of nature and are forced to sit in the classroom, which is therefore the metaphorical cage. Blake believed children were not allowed to enjoy the freedom of their youth with a formal education. This education does more harm than good as the fears of punishment is what drives the system and no genuine passion for learning is instilled into the child whose droop his tender wing, And forgets his youthful spring, (l.19-20). The final stanzas of The Schoolboy illustrate how brutal the education system can be to a child as the metaphors of plants and seasonal changes play an important theme. The buds are nipped, And blossoms blown away, And if the tender plants are stripped (l.21-23), connects the metaphor of a caged bird from the fourth stanza. Neither the flower nor the bird feel happy feels happy with the separation from the outside world, in parallel with the speaker who also feels the isolation from nature. This bleak image is continued into the final stanza of the poem, as the speaker talks of the vanishing summer season ending on the fearful line When the blasts of winter appear? (l.30), once again exposes the melancholy of the schoolroom. The poems composed by Wordsworth and Blake are both highly emotional in terms to the theme of childhood. While the styles of poem are contrasting, the poets have used symbolic metaphors to convey the importance of childhood and in turn the readers response to each poem. Wordsworths The Prelude relates the importance of spots of time, (Bygrave, 1996, page 12), a powerful impression that is a deep source of inspiration to an adult in later. In the case of The Prelude, Wordsworth advocates his childhood exploits as showing him the true magnificence of nature, and in turn the education that he learnt through the physical activities that he enjoyed as a child. While in comparison William Blakes The Schoolboy, brings restrictions of a formal education to the forefront of the poem. The strict rules of a teacher not only causes apprehension of a child but also restricts that lessons a child can learn from life experiences, therefore reducing the quality of childhood. The Schoolboy sympathises with children from poorer social backgrounds who are restricted to the classroom, rather than enjoying the books in the wonder of nature, as Blake believed was imperative. With these opinions formed it is imperative to note that both poets have conveyed a sense nature reflect freedom to grow not only as poets but as well happy child and later adults.

The Basics of Associated Press Style
The Basics of Associated Press Style One of the first things a student in a beginning journalism course learns about is Associated Press style or AP style for short. AP style is simply a standardized way of writing everything from dates to street addresses to job titles. AP style was developed and is maintained by The Associated Press, the worldââ¬â¢s oldest news service. Why Do I Have to Learn AP Style? Learning AP style is certainly not the most exciting or glamorous aspect of a career in journalism, but getting a handle on it is absolutely necessary. Why? Because AP style is the gold standard for print journalism. Itââ¬â¢s used by the vast majority of newspapers in the U.S. A reporter who never bothers to learn even the basics of AP style, who gets into the habit of submitting stories filled with AP style errors, is likely to find himself covering the sewage treatment board beat for a long, long time. How Do I Learn AP Style? To learn AP style you must get your hands on an AP Stylebook. It can be purchased at most bookstores or online. The stylebook is a comprehensive catalog of proper style usage and has literally thousands of entries. As such, it can be intimidating to the first-time user. But the AP Stylebook is designed to be used by reporters and editors working on tight deadlines, so generally, itââ¬â¢s pretty easy to use. Thereââ¬â¢s no point in trying to memorize the AP Stylebook. The important thing is to get into the habit of using it whenever you write a news story to make sure your article follows proper AP style. The more you use the book, the more youââ¬â¢ll start to memorize certain points of AP style. Eventually, you wonââ¬â¢t have to refer to the stylebook nearly as much. On the other hand, donââ¬â¢t get cocky and toss out your AP Stylebook once youââ¬â¢ve memorized the basics. Mastering AP style is a lifelong, or at least career-long, pursuit, and even expert copy editors with decades of experience find they must refer to it regularly. Indeed, walk into any newsroom, anywhere in the country and youââ¬â¢re likely to find an AP Stylebook on every desk. Itââ¬â¢s the Bible of print journalism. The AP Stylebook is also an excellent reference work. It includes in-depth sections on libel law, business writing, sports, crime, and firearms ââ¬â all topics that any good reporter should have a grasp of. For instance, whatââ¬â¢s the difference between a burglary and a robbery? There are a big difference and a novice police reporter who makes the mistake of thinking they are one and the same thing is likely to get hammered by a tough editor. So before you write that the mugger burgled the little old ladyââ¬â¢s purse, check your stylebook. Here are some of the most basic and commonly used AP style points. But remember, these represent only a tiny fraction of whatââ¬â¢s in the AP Stylebook, so donââ¬â¢t use this page as a substitute for getting your own stylebook. Numbers One through nine is generally spelled out, while 10 and above are generally written as numerals. Example: He carried five books for 12 blocks. Percentages Percentages are always expressed as numerals, followed by the word ââ¬Å"percent.â⬠Example: The price of gas rose 5 percent. Ages Ages are always expressed as numerals. Example: $5, $15, $150, $150,000, $15 million, $15 billion, $15.5 billion Street Addresses Numerals are used for numbered addresses. Street, Avenue, and Boulevard are abbreviated when used with a numbered address but otherwise are spelled out. Route and Road are never abbreviated. Example: He lives at 123 Main St. His house is on Main Street. Her house in on 234 Elm Road. Dates Dates are expressed as numerals. The months August through February are abbreviated when used with numbered dates. March through July are never abbreviated. Months without dates are not abbreviated. ââ¬Å"Thâ⬠is not used. Business Policy case analysis on Samsung Electronics - it is a case analysis and I will attach the case and more details below - Essay Example gion, for this purpose one of the main things that need to be studied are the strengths and weaknesses of the company, a SWOT analysis for the company follows. SWOT is basically an acronym for Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats, where strengths and weaknesses are internal and opportunity and threats exist in the external environment, with this basic understanding let us now discover the strengths of Samsung. Strengths for Samsung would be its human resources, because Samsung places such a high value on its human resources and believes in rewarding its labor and not punishing them makes a whole lot of difference because employees are more motivated to work and they have a strong sense of loyalty to the company; this makes a whole lot of difference as people would put in more effort for the company to succeed in achieving its targets and in bad times they would be much more supportive of the company which may include accepting a lower wage for the period that the company is suffering because there is a sense of ownership and belonging with respect to the company. At Samsung this is achieved by relieving the employees of the 90% of their burden such as healthcare for them and their family and retirement , with these burdens taken care of, it allows employees more freedom to concentrate on their work rather than worrying about other things.. Planck mission explores the history of our universe Research Paper
Planck mission explores the history of our universe - Research Paper Example With the help of NASA, Planck was able to construct a composite image from observations of the Milky Way Galaxy made at wavelengths of light longer than what we see with the naked eye. According to Charles Lawrence, NASAââ¬â¢s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Planck is equipped enough to see not only the old light from the origin of our universe, but also gas and dust in todayââ¬â¢s galaxy. Planck stated that it would make the data (that will be detailing all the observations made in the entire mission) available to the public on 5th February (Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, California para. 4). With this data, that has informed research in matters including dark matter, theories on the cosmos will be put to a test and the knowledge we have on the universe revolutionized. There are several points of interest in Planckââ¬â¢s mission. For any study on the origin of the universe, there are some issues that need to be addressed. Dark energy is said to have had a lot of power over the formation of the universe. Today, it is still believed to be affecting the survival of the planet probably due to acting against gravity. Researching on how the dark energy can affect the planet or the universe is imperative to understanding what effects it had during the creation of the universe. The milk way, also, is another important part of the study. Our planet is found in the milk way, and it is, therefore, crucial that proper knowledge of the region is acquired. Among some of the most striking findings is the length of time the universe was supposed to have remained in darkness. Planckââ¬â¢s data show that the universe may have remained in darkness during its infantry period for a hundred years or so (Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, California para. 5). This research, however, is inconclusive and subject to review. During this period, dark energy is a major factor of consideration. According to Planck, dark energy does exist, and it is working against gravity at an increased

Fun Loving Girl Essay Example for Free
Fun Loving Girl Essay I have a grown daughter that is on her own with a very special little girl that has stolen my heart. They are most important in my life and always will be. Family is very important to me and I want to be with someone who also values family. This fun loving girl is ready to start taking care of her social life. I keep myself busy as a foster parent and sometimes forget that I need to get out and have some fun. I am a small town country girl who just likes to keep things simple. I work at a hunting lodge so stay very busy during the season. I love what I do and donââ¬â¢t consider it a job. Iââ¬â¢ve grown up around guns and like to shoot at the range. Never been out hunting, but would like to see what it is all aboutâ⬠¦.. test the ââ¬Ëif it flies, it diesââ¬â¢ theory. I shot clays for the first time last fall and really enjoyed it, so looking forward to doing that again. Love to go fishing (and yes, I can bait my own hook), just kicking back and taking it easy, spending time around the fire with friends having a few drinks and lots of laughs. Iââ¬â¢d rather look at the stars and kiss in the rain than go to the mall. I like NASCAR and hope to get to a race someday. I think it would be awesome to take a car for a spin around the track too. Demo derbies, stock-car races, dirt trackâ⬠¦. love the atmosphere. I havenââ¬â¢t been on the back of a bike in a very long time and have always wanted to learn to ride myself, so if you are into that, I am not opposed to having the wind in my hair. I enjoy rock from the 70ââ¬â¢s, 80ââ¬â¢s and 90ââ¬â¢s and country. Never had much opportunity to learn how to two step but would like to learn. I like to go to out of the way places to look at the history, the old buildings and structures and remnants of the past that have been left behind. Antique stores and such are fun to explore and I like going to the local country auctions. I can always find something from the past that catches my eye. Im looking for someone to enjoy life with. Start out slow but have no limits to where it may go. I am a very affectionate girl who loves holding hands in public and giving hugs and kisses because that is how I like to show you that I care and I am really into you! I dont have time to play gamesâ⬠¦.. unless, of course, they are mutually agreed upon. I am adventurous and passionate, so intimacy and romance is a must. You should know that I give like I want to get back and am looking for that special guy that does the same thing. You must have a great sense of humor! I love to laugh and can find humor in just about anything. I believe you have to laugh at yourself before you can laugh at someone else. And I laugh at myself every day! Laughter is a great healer and I try to surround myself with people who laugh at the smallest most ridiculous thing, and can also create their own humor. I am looking for someone to build a relationship with, that special friend to stand by my side through it allâ⬠¦the good and the bad. I want someone who also tries to keep a positive attitude in all things. I am determined to be happy, regardless of what life throws at me. I have learned through experience that the greatest part of my happiness will depend on my disposition, not my circumstances. I choose to be happy. I want someone to enjoy life with. I dont need someone to change me or someone to change for me. I am who I am, Im not perfect but I work through my imperfection to be a better person. Life is not certain so I live life with no regrets, I am who I am because of my life and dont live in the past. I look forward to each new day and the adventure it brings. So if there is someone out there who is up to the task, I am ready to have fun. Here is our chance to maybe finding that spark for more. I am looking forward to meeting new people, forming lasting friendships, exploring life and the possibility of ultimately finding my soul mate. If you get what Iââ¬â¢ve said here, then hit me up and we can get to know each other.

Serial Killers Essay -- Can Biology make us Murderers?
"One must feel sorry for those who have strange tastes, but never insult them. Their wrong is Nature's too; they are no more responsible for having come into the world with tendencies unlike ours than are we for being born bandy-legged or well-proportioned". Marquis de Sade (1740-1814), "Dialogue the Fifth" (1795). If who we are and what we do originates in the brain, than the structure of and the occurrences therein can explain for our entire catalogue of personalities and behaviors. However, what about deviant behavior and personalities? If deviation implies wrong or inaccurate behavior, is there something wrong or inaccurate in the brains of those who are devious? The possibility seems immanent, but also too easy. Surely there must be something wrong with someone who is extremely violent, or hurts individuals in ways our society will not allow. There are few things more repellent to 'human nature' and morality than the concept of a serial killer. What is different about the brains of these individuals whom our society finds unforgivable and unredeemable predators? Society might find a biological reason for such atrocities more comfortable than the prospects of 'good and evil' or a mistake. This paper will catalogue and attempt to organize the current biological differences between our minds and that of a serial killer. Can Biology make us Murderers? Recent reports in science have found discrete locations in the brain that are used in intricate systems that serve as the human moral compass (1).Changes in the brain have long been known to change the behaviors of a man. In the famous example of Phineas Gage, an accident at his job caused an iron rod to pierce through Gage's skull. Strangely enough, I found many sites that showed up on search engines under the word 'psychopath' that focused on the Clinton Administration. I was surprised (as much as a Republican can be.)
